The Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, has pledged Delta State's inclusion in the next phase of the Smallholder Farmers Initiative, pending the successful acquisition of a new grant for the project.

He made this known while receiving a delegation from Delta State led by the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning, Hon. Sonny Ekedayen, during a familiarisation visit to the agency's headquarters.

The Delta team also comprised the Special Adviser on Agriculture, Hon. George Oyefia, who represented the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, as well as the state’s AUDA-NEPAD Coordinator, Mrs. Christie Eruotor.

During the meeting, Hon. Abdullahi briefed the delegation on other AUDA-NEPAD projects currently underway and urged the state to align with them for greater impact. In response, Hon. Ekedayen reaffirmed the Delta State Government’s readiness to domesticate AUDA-NEPAD programmes and deepen collaboration with the national agency.

The visit signifies a renewed partnership aimed at boosting agricultural development and empowering smallholder farmers across the state.
